The short reason for homeschooling is that I see my kids as my greatest investment. I'm just not willing to let someone else shape their thoughts, and worldview!
Education Wise: Luke is smart but a clown and would learn to goof off at school. He'd learn that being in the principal's office was not a big deal - probably worth the fun playing in class! I know that at home I can teach him that learning is exciting and that there is SO much to learn!
Statistically - children who are homeschooled score much higher than public or even private school peers. They are more likely to have a higher income, and be a professional.
World View: We believe that God created the world in 7 days about 5000 years ago. I want him to know about eveolution but not have to deprogram him! Besides he will trust the people he learns from most!
Spiritual Development: Every part of our lives is God's - not just Sunday. I want every part of his developing life to be about what is right and true and noble and lovely and praiseworthy. I want him to know that Everything he does is about God! And Statistically - children who spend lots of time with their parents keep their family beliefs more often! This is important!
What it comes down to is INVESTMENT! I am investing into who my children are - not 4 hours a day, but 12 hours a day and I really truly believe that it will pay off!
